Anonymous February 16, 2025 at 9:28 AM A little struggle, but to be expected. I'm going to pass you and Izzy. today you need to work on Fast starts with the whole set up on (Leash, light line). Fast starts, you're in heel position at the same time you command heel you'll do a fast small step with your left foot, if you do a large step, you will send Izzy flying, which we do not want. This exercise will teacher her to move forward as soon as the left foot moves. Pace changes done consistently, would have helped you to get her to stay in heel position, the hallway was too small. work on Pace changes and call out slow, normal, Fast for her understanding. and remember your body mechanics for those. Your J-LOOP needs to be UNDER BOTH KNEE'S
At this point in the training while in heel position, don't command "COME". this will break your formal recall. "Come" means straight sit in front. I understand that you were trying to use anything to get her to succeed without a correction. this week was all about how you as the handler to help Izzy succeed without correction. I suggest that all your training sessions need to out of the house, tennis courts are great, can be completely enclosed. Also get your head up you are eyeing Izzy which is making everything personal. I'd like you to video your practice and upload, that way I can help you. If you have a question, you can ask it in the moment and then it won't be forgotten.
